We are pleased to announce significant improvements to the 1895 C-Clamp. These include elimination of the serrated insert, elimination of the clamp band for the strain relief, a redesigned lower jaw, as well as a new style of eyescrew.
Serrations cast into
clamp body
The serrated insert was eliminated to meet the requests of the market. The integral serrations eliminated the interface between the insert and the body of the clamp. Although we never experienced any difficulties using inserts, this new style now meets our customers' requests.
The elimination of the clamp band as a restraint for the strain relief is an improvement everyone will appreciate. The "new" 1895 C-Clamp uses two machine screws and special formed metal keeper. This new design provides a clean interface to restrain the Salisbury Salcor strain relief.

1895 Strain Relief Restraint
Eyescrew

The change to the eyescrew is the least noticeable difference. We have gone from a casting to a forging resulting in a stronger part. This improves the appearance of the clamp with a cleaner look and finish.

The improvements to the 1895 clamp have had one more significant impact on our grounding line and that is it made the 1893 clamp unnecessary. From this point on, the 1893 clamp will no longer be offered.

The "new" 1895 was tested to surpass ASTM F855 Grade 5 requirements.
